No More Room in Hell is a free-to-play action game from developer No More Room in Hell Team. It is a first-person multiplayer horror survival experience with up to eight players. An all-out war between humans and the army of the undead has begun, and they must find a way to survive the ordeal.
Much like Left 4 Dead or 7 Days to Die, No More Room in Hell requires players to communicate and work together to increase their chances of survival. It features varied maps wrapped inside objective-based missions that they will need to accomplish to clear the stage.
Hell on Earth
No More Room in Hell is a multiplayer horror survival game that takes inspiration from author George Romero and his Of the Dead novel series. Its story takes place in a world wherein a mysterious and deadly disease has emerged, infecting a large part of the popular and turning victims into the walking dead. With an all-out war on the verge of erupting, you and a handful of survivors must navigate this post-apocalyptic landscape and survive the chaos.
The main mode in this game features objective-based missions across multiple dynamic maps. Use over 30 types of weapons to face a diverse set of undead enemies, each requiring a unique approach to take down. What's more, there is no crosshair to help you aim, adding to the immersion, but also the challenge. Rely on your visual judgment and hope you don't miss and waste ammo.
You also have to deal with the risk of getting bitten and infected by enemies. Tell your teammates to prevent the spread of the virus or keep it a secret in hopes you find a cure. Alternatively, you can enter Survival Mode wherein you must defend your shelter from waves of oncoming enemies as you wait for rescue to come. All that said, the gameplay is littered with multiple bugs and glitches that negatively impact the experience.
Unique but flawed
All in all, No More Room in Hell is a fun and engaging co-op survival horror game with plenty of interesting mechanics that make it stand out from its contemporaries. However, while the concept is great, the execution is far less so, with a lot of persistent issues that have yet to be addressed and fixed. It's still worth a try. Just manage your expectations.
"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth."
A tribute to the highly acclaimed film series in which the above quote originated from, No More Room in Hell (PC Gamer's Mod of the Year 2011, ModDB's Editor Choice Multiplayer Mod of the Year 2011), is a co-operative realistic first person survival horror modification for the Source Engine. Taking inspiration from George Romero's "Of the Dead" series, the mod is set during a time in which the world is on the verge of collapsing into chaos from a disease whose origin is unknown. Many experts and organizations have their theories and ideas on how such a disease emerged and started to systematically destroy our very way of life, but one fact is clear to all. Whoever perishes from the disease gets up and kills, and the people they killed get up and kill. The chances of you surviving this all out war of society and the undead are slim to none. Already, there are millions of the walking dead shambling about, searching for food to eat. There's no known cure. One bite can possibly end it all for you. However, you aren't alone in this nightmare. There are still a handful of uninfected survivors left in this god forsaken hellhole, and with co-operation and teamwork, you may live long enough to fight your way to salvation.
